SUBSCRIBE FOR YOUR CHANCE TO WIN A PACK OF HYACINTH BULBS!

Subscribe to ABC Gardening Australia for your chance to WIN 1 of 170 packs of Hyacinth Bulbs valued at $29 each!

Enhance your spring garden with the gelato colours and intense perfume of hyacinths. These bulbs are ideal for mass planting in garden beds, and because they’re compact growing, they’re perfect in pots, too. You could also try them in glass containers where you can see the bulbs shoot (see the step-by-step guide at gardenexpress. com.au/hyacinth-in-water). To enjoy the display indoors, bring the pots inside or cut the flowers for a vase.

Each pack of 10 mixed hyacinth bulbs (Hyacinthus orientalis) on offer here produces an assortment of beautiful colours. Before planting in autumn, the dormant bulbs require a chilling period. If you live in a warmer climate, the bulbs need to be refrigerated for six weeks before planting. To ensure a great result and long-lasting blooms, plant them in a position with full sun to semi-shade.

Savings based on cover price, including GST. Subscriptions commence with next issue to be mailed. Please allow 6–8 weeks for delivery of first magazine. Competition open to Australian residents subscribing in print to ABC Gardening Australia for a minimum of 1 year between 00:01 AEDT 17/2/20 and 23:59 AEDT 15/3/20. One hundred and seventy (170) subscribers will each win a pack of 10 mixed hyacinth bulbs, valued at $29 a pack. Total prize pool valued at $4930. Winners drawn at the promoter’s premises on 17/3/20. Please allow 6–8 weeks for separate delivery of prize pack (after 17/3/20). Full competition terms at mymagazines.com.au. Our Privacy Notice can be found at nextmedia.com.au.
